Our purpose
The Industrialist, the official student publication of Pampanga State University (formerly Don Honorio Ventura State University), has always strived to present itself as a voice and avenue that will serve the students and the community at large. It provides a platform for students to develop their writing and communication skills while fostering creativity and critical thinking. By reporting on school events and social issues, it promotes a space for engagement, advocates diverse opinions, and encourages experiences to be shared. Since 1940, The Industrialist has been dedicated to upholding the values of independent, impartial, and good-faith ethical journalism, ensuring that everyone is well-informed and empowered.
History
Many may wonder why the publication has been named The Industrialist. Back in the day, student publications’ names best described the studentry they represented. The university was still labeled as DHVCAT, and since most of its students were taking up vocational and technical courses, they were said to be "industrious" or "hard-working." Thus, as a layman’s term, the word "industrialist" was used. Known as one of the oldest existing student organization across the region.
