All Saints' Day
SOCIETY

Today, we observe All Saints’ Day, a solemn feast honoring all the saints—both those officially canonized by the Church and those whose holiness remains unrecognized, yet whose lives radiated steadfast faith and virtue.
In the Philippines, Todos los Santos or Undas is more than a holiday of remembrance. Families gather to pray, light candles, and offer flowers, turning cemeteries into places of warmth, light, and enduring love.
First celebrated in 609 AD when Pope Boniface IV consecrated the Pantheon to the Blessed Virgin Mary and all Martyrs, this feast stands as a testament to hope and the promise of eternal peace in God’s embrace.
This day is an affirmation that sanctity is attainable through faith, compassion, and devotion in everyday life. It serves as an invitation to reflect on the saints’ example and to live with the same courage, integrity, and love for others.
As candles are lit and prayers are offered, may we be guided by the saints’ unwavering faith and inspired to seek goodness in all that we do.
