Candaba under Signal No. 4 as Super Typhoon Uwan barrels Central Luzon
NEWSWEATHER

Candaba, Pampanga’s easternmost town, has been placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 4 as Super Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-Wong) continues to lash parts of Luzon, PAGASA said in its 11 a.m. advisory on Sunday, November 9.
The state weather bureau said Uwan maintained its “life-threatening” intensity, packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center, gusts of up to 230 km/h, and moving west-northwest at 30 km/h as it crossed the Catanduanes area toward Central Luzon.
Violent winds and torrential rains are expected to be brought by the super typhoon over Bicol Region and most of Luzon, including the central portion of Aurora province, where Signal No. 5 remains in effect for San Luis, Baler, Maria Aurora, and Dipaculao.
Along with Candaba, areas under Signal No. 4 include most parts of Aurora and Nueva Ecija, as well as the northern and eastern portions of Bulacan while Signal No. 3 remains in effect over the rest of Pampanga and Bulacan, along with Zambales, Bataan, and Tarlac.
PAGASA has also issued a red rainfall warning over Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and Zambales, indicating serious flooding threats while the rest of Central Luzon remains under an orange rainfall warning, including parts of Pampanga.
Authorities have urged residents across affected provinces to take precautionary measures, remain vigilant against flash floods and landslides, and coordinate with local disaster response offices for possible evacuation and emergency assistance.
