Bagging multiple podium finishes, six Elasticos from Pampanga State University’s College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) secured top spots at the National Mechanical Engineering Students’ Conference (MESCON) 2025, organized by the Pambansang Samahan ng Inhenyero Mekanikal on September 16 at The Tent, Villar City, Las Piñas.
Leading the delegation was Ryan P. Dultra, who captured gold in the On-the-Spot Poster Making category, improving on his silver medal finish from last year.
The quiz bee team also rose to the podium, placing second after a notable jump from their ninth-place finish in 2024.
In an interview with The Industrialist, Ivan Elmo C. Vitug, one of the quizzers, described the event as both a meaningful and mentoring experience.
“Overall, the experience in the event was great and meaningful… marami rin kaming natutunan from the licensed engineers sa seminar who shared their experiences and expertise,” he said.
He added that placing in the quiz bee was beyond their expectations.
“Nu’ng nalaman na naming nakapag-placer kami, nagsigawan na pati mga kasama naming delegates at coaches… nanginginig pa rin ako, para bang may next question pa,” Vitug recalled.
