Pampanga State University’s Office of the Culture and the Arts (OCA) spearheaded a celebration of National Arts Month starting February 11, marking its second celebration since 2023 after a three-year hiatus.
In a statement, OCA Director Rowell E. Cruz emphasized that the event forms part of the office’s initiative to expand its programs and recruit aspiring student artists.
“We would like to inspire students to join us. Nakasulat po sa ating Saligang Batas na ang kultura at sining ay mahalagang paraan upang mahubog ang ating mga mamamayan. This is part of our holistic development program for our students,” Cruz said.
OCA also encouraged students to showcase their talents through various artistic presentations and to take part in the diverse exhibits and interactive sessions held across the campus.
A program prepared by OCA student artists was held at the University Auditorium featuring performances from the music, dance, performing arts, literary, and visual arts clusters, and concluded with the awarding ceremony for participants in the Regional Culture and the Arts 2025.
One of the participants, Rian Jelica Mundo of BSAR 1-E and a member of the dance cluster, shared her enthusiasm about the activity.
“Since kaninang umaga po, ramdam na ramdam ko yung energy. Kahit magkakaiba po kami ng paraan ng pag-express ng sining, naramdaman ko po na nagkakaisa po kaming lahat dito,” she said.
The three-day event will continue with a Chalk Festival in the morning on Day 2, followed by cultural performances and booth exhibits; and auditions on Day 3 at the University Auditorium.
