Pampanga State University psychology graduate, Angelica Soto Acordon, a first-time taker, secured seventh place nationwide with 88.20% in the recent September 2025 Board Licensure Examination for Psychologists and Psychometricians (BLEPP), released by the Professional Regulation Commission on October 2, 2025.
In an interview with The Industrialist, Acordon said that achieving the top spot was a dream she had long imagined, adding that the experience of turning it into reality still felt surreal.
“It was more of a wonderful journey that was driven by the hope, dreams, and love from my family and those who supported me. It is a journey that I will continue to traverse with the purpose of doing something for the greater good of others,” she shared.
She also highlighted her faith and the people behind her success despite the difficulties in her journey to becoming a licensed professional.
“Making it through BLEPP was difficult. It was all prayers. It was God who gave me the motivation, determination, and the amazing people who supported me all throughout. My faith in God is what I held onto for the entirety of this journey,” Acordon said.
According to PRC, 118 first-time takers (90.08%) and two of seven repeaters (28.57%) from PSU passed, bringing the university's passing rate to 86.96%—a significant leap from the previous record of 65.71% in 2024—and producing 120 new psychometricians.
This also marks the second consecutive year that Pampanga StateU has produced a BLEPP topnotcher, following the achievement of three graduates who earned spots on the national list last year.
Meanwhile, the September 2025 BLEPP posted an overall passing rate of 86.98%, with 12,416 out of 14,275 examinees making the cut.
The said examination was administered on September 24 and 25, 2025, at PRC testing centers nationwide.
