Pampanga State University produced nearly half, with 91 of the 187 newly licensed mechanical engineers in the latest Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination (MELE), posting an overall passing rate of 48.66%, based on results released on February 2.

Data from the Professional Regulation Commission showed that 84 of 162 first-time takers passed, translating to a 51.85% passing rate.

Repeaters recorded seven passers out of 25 examinees, or a 28% passing rate.

The latest performance marked a significant improvement from the August 2025 MELE, when the university logged a 16.67% passing rate with 11 passers out of 66 examinees.

On the national scale, 3,264 of 6,294 examinees passed, equivalent to a 51.86% overall passing rate.
